Baby It's Cold Outside Time for a Movie... The Long Long Trailer!!

Winters here in Iowa are really cold and long. Not the best weather for camping, but my love affair with vintage trailers still remains strong, especially after curling up by the fire and watching a video of a great vintage trailer movie ...The Long Long Trailer staring Lucille Ball and Dezi Arnez.

It's absolutely charming. It' classic Lucy in her hay day!! If you haven't seen this great classic you've got to put it on your list.

The New Moon was an actual trailer that was sold in the 50's and featured in the movie. These are some of the brochures from the trailer.

Let me know how you like the show!!!

Victoria, That's one of my favorite parts also...

Dani, A few years ago I spotted one of these trailers in a junk field. I tried to see inside, but was scared off my the high weeds. I deathy afraid of snakes, mice etc and I didn't want to run into any. I just love the trailer also.... wouldn't it be fun for a little get away.

    1. I just started working on my vintage camper and it turns out mine is the #23 from this ad, although I'm pretty sure that mine is a 1952 model, the floorplan and fixture are just like the pictures in this brochure. I'm so excited to have found your blog. Thank you so much.

  8. Great Blog! I too am a vintage trailer gal. My husband has always been into streetrods, he thought it time to let me have a project when I found a 13" Yellowstone. He restored it as a labor of love when he was very ill. Right after he finished her we had a terrible hailstorm, we now call her "Dimples". I saw where you have been to the museum, we went there when we did the Vintage trailer Rally at So. Bend Ind. last year. 51 trailers at the rally! So much fun, you should take one of your little beauties!!! Hope to meet you at a rally somewhere, someday!

  11. Hi,
I just found your blog. I am your newest follower. I love it! I have always wanted an old trailer. Funny thing, I just rented the Long Long Trailer and finished watching it a couple days ago. I may watch it again before returning it. Please come visit me at my new blog, Ric Rac and Polka Dots. I am brand new, but plan on lots of fun things to share. In my profile I mention how I want a vintage trailer to decorate! I hope to see you there.

  12. Hi there!

I hope you don't mind the plug, but I've linked to you from my new blog: Loyal Order of the Glamper.

I'd be honored if you'd consider linking back or even writing an article about your adorable camper or something related! (That would be awesome!) I love your site and have checked back often. Someday...Oh someday I'll have a field and a circle of little campers to decorate for parties with friends. :)

Take care and have a great weekend.
