The All American!!

This trailer picture is in my collection, but the trailer is not mine. Of course I would kill to own just a great shiny piece of Americana, but sadly someone gets to shine it up.

What's more American than the Flag and Mickey Mouse... and of course going camping in a Vintage Trailer!!!

Decorating a Vintage Trailer... It's all in the Details

These are some treasures that I have in the "Lucy" trailer. Vintage Trailer Decorating is so Fun!!! It's a little time capsule to put great vintage stuff. Come up with a theme and let your imagination run wild.

Pictures I take on Vacation

These pictures are of a vacation we took several years ago to northern Michigan.
I take pictures of Lighthouses, camp convenience stores with stuffed bears, my husband and my kids playing on the beach, but of course if I spot a vintage trailer it gets added to the family album.

Getting Ready for a Vintage Trailer Party

Some people collect stamps, coins or other small items. When I was younger we didn't have a lot of room, so I collected thimbles.
Now that we live on an acreage and we have room ... I collect vintage travel trailers and other vintage camping things.
It started innocently by just wanting a little "MOM's Getaway"... to have a place to fix up and read at night. Like most collections.. one isn't enough. Before I knew it I had several. Nancy's Vintage Trailer Park was born.
Unfortunately they sit out during the winter because we can't afford a big metal building to store them during the winter months. They are all in need of repair and someday I hope to restore them all to their former glory, but for now I fill them with vintage treasures based on a theme for each trailer.
We've had slumber parties... where everyone gets their own trailer ... and we have 50's parties, but mainly we just light them up at night and get a campfire burning and our family sits around the burn ring and discuss the day while eatting smores.

The "New Moon" Luxury Mobile Homes 1954

These are actual brochures for the "New Moon" trailer which was debuted in 1954. It was the feature trailer for one of my favorite movies with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz... The Long Long Trailer. You have to check it out!!! It's classic vintage 50's and such a great movie.

A Matched Pair....

This is a picture I have in my collection, but these are not mine. If someday I win the lottery or become independently wealthy I may own it, but for now I just glad to have a picture.

Vintage Trailers in the Spot Light

I found this picture on the Internet sometime ago. It's apparently a photo shot with a vintage trailer, but I'm not sure for what.... I have noticed more vintage trailers showing up in advertising. If you see some let me know.
Happy Trailers,
Nancy

A Trailer "Open House"

For my father's 80th birthday party I brought one my little trailers to western Iowa to have it on display for the party goers. It was a big hit. ... Everyone loved "Lucy" the vintage Comanche trailer.

My son won this very large flamingo at Adventure Land in Des Moines that year, so we had to have it perched on top.
