Getting Ready for a Vintage Trailer Party

Some people collect stamps, coins or other small items. When I was younger we didn't have a lot of room, so I collected thimbles.
Now that we live on an acreage and we have room ... I collect vintage travel trailers and other vintage camping things.
It started innocently by just wanting a little "MOM's Getaway"... to have a place to fix up and read at night. Like most collections.. one isn't enough. Before I knew it I had several. Nancy's Vintage Trailer Park was born.
Unfortunately they sit out during the winter because we can't afford a big metal building to store them during the winter months. They are all in need of repair and someday I hope to restore them all to their former glory, but for now I fill them with vintage treasures based on a theme for each trailer.
We've had slumber parties... where everyone gets their own trailer ... and we have 50's parties, but mainly we just light them up at night and get a campfire burning and our family sits around the burn ring and discuss the day while eatting smores.

  2. I am loving every page even more than the last!

I've had a longtime love of the ol' "canned ham" trailers and hope to make owning one a reality this year. I opened a website selling vintage-style home goods (www.bluebirdgoods.com) and think it would be fabulous to have a "mobile storefront" that can also work as sleeping quarters when making the rounds of the antique fairs and bazaars.

We're in Chicago, but if you ever happen to know of a trailer with "good bones", I would be honored if you'd keep us in mind.

Keep up the wonderful documentation. It's a lovely resource.

By the way, if you ever turned your collection of campers into a little B&B, I'd certainly be one of the first in line to stay!

    Best wishes,
