The Little Trailer @ The Iowa State Fair

Several years ago while we attended the Iowa State Fair, I spotted this little Shasta Trailer that was being used with this implement dealers display. I talked to the gentleman. He said the trailer always attracted people especially the women, but he used it for storage. It was there for several years, but the last 2 it's been missing. I wonder what happened to the little trailer???

Oilcloth in Vintage Trailers... This is a Great Idea

Sometimes an idea has to hit me between the eyes before the light bulb goes on.
I own a home decor & antique shop and we sell oilcloth. I was looking at other blogs... of course I couldn't find the picture to show you, but some very clever trailer person had covered their old upholstery in their trailer with OILCLOTH\!!! Wow.... Somehow I have never thought of that... Can you believe it.... Oilcloth is perfect for everything in trailers... tablecloths, cushion covers etc.... I really want to try making a "V" pennant with different scraps of Oilcloth... I think it would be soooo cute.

Vintage Trailers... A Summer Retreat

The "Lucy" trailer has a pastel color palette. I love the pink, yellow and aqua stacking bowls. I think they were predecessors to Tupperware.
The "Lucy" table... Funky and Fun.... of course our signature colors pink and aqua.

Vintage Vacations

Boy would I love to have gone to one of these Vintage Vacation Rallies in Newport Dunes California. I'm sure it would have been a blast. I've seen pictures on the net of these rallies and the trailers are amazing.

A Huckster Wagon

This isn't a vintage Trailer, but I think it's neat. My kids and I visited a local museum in the very small town of Swedsburg, Iowa. It has quite a Swedish heritage.
This wagon was called a Huckster. It was filled with dry goods and traveled the area to sell household goods to the local farm wives, kind of like a Walmart on wheels.
I image it was very exciting for those early pioneers to have someone come to their farms with this array of new goods.

A Flock of Flamingos

Vintage Trailer People are very Fun People. This is not my trailer, but I found it on the Internet. What a great idea to have a flock of flamingos.
