Elkhart Indiana....Home of the Vintage Trailer Museum

Several years ago we visited Elkhart Indiana and toured the vintage trailer museum. It really fired me up about vintage trailers. The museum was very difficult to find. Even many locals didn't even know it existed. They were raising money to built a new museum near the interstate.

The Mickey Trailer

This is the original box and complete puzzle framed that I got from my Grandmother.
The funny thing is that I had the puzzle in a box of old stuff for years until I realized that it had a trailer on it. I was so excited to see if all the pieces were there.... and they were.
I then had it framed , it's one of my most prized "trailer" things.

"Lucy" Trailer...Just Plain Fun

This is the interior of my little 1960 Comanche trailer.. that I call "Lucy". It's interior is decorated in whimsy... pink, flamingo, aqua, girl stuff and of course Lucy memorabilia.

Vintage Trailer folk like to have fun. I always put up this clothes line with the pink vintage underwear for my parties.

The Greeting sign and name tags for one of my parities.
This party was called: "Nancy's Nighttime Vintage Trailer Extravaganza".

The One That Got Away

Several years ago we were in Galena, IL when I saw this trailer go by at an intersection. I was driving and literally chased it down til it stopped for gas. The trailer was in almost mint original condition. I was absolutely taken by it, that I politely asked if I could buy it, but it wasn't for sale. I would have done anything to own her... I even offer them one of my children for collateral. Just kidding...
